The Anthracite Bicycle Coalition is governed by our Board of Directors and led by our Executive Director. If you are interested in applying to be a member of our board, we ask that you please send us a letter of intent.
Gene McDonough
Gene has a long history of community activism, including planning and erecting multiple playgrounds including Darcy Park. Gene was Chairperson of Scranton’s City Pride Yearly Spring Cleaning, and helped initiate Scranton’s Adopt-a-Park program along with the restoration and relighting of Scranton’s Trademark Electric City Sign. Gene has also been active in Lackawanna Heritage Valley Partners, Lackawanna River Corridor Association, National Ski Patrol, Boy Scouts and multiple business organizations. Gene is an IT Manager with 35+ years’ experience with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dept of Health.

Kuba Jennes
Kuba is a bicycle mechanic and bag maker who manages the Cycle Kitchen and served on the Board of Directors from 2022 until offered the position of Director in 2025.

Tom McLane
Tom is a founding member of ABC, a landscape architect, and the proprietor of McLane Associates. He has been the board president for the Lackawanna River Corridor Association and also held leadership positions with the Lackawanna Valley Conservancy and the Lackawanna County Conservation District.
Treasurer
Richard Cochrane
Dick Cochrane has been with ABC since the beginning as treasurer. He has been riding multi-speed bicycles since 1970, and has the distinction of riding his tandem with wife Marie in all fifty states and DC and eight Canadian provinces. He is also the treasurer for the Anthracite Scenic Trails Association in Dallas (PA).
Kim Paine
Kim is a hospitality grad with special interests in customer service, marketing, travel, and making processes more efficient. She is instrumental in helping the Cycle Kitchen run smoothly and can often be found at the front desk.

Dr. Daniel Ginsberg
A cyclist for more than 90 years, Daniel was a member of the Lackawanna Bicycle Club and the Pocono Pedalers, helping organize rides through the 70s and 80s.

Owen is the Trail and Environmental Projects Manager at the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority.

Janet is the Vice President of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and leads PEC’s Northeast office.
April Rogato
April is a founding member of ABC, was a key figure in bring the local trail system to fruition, and is currently the Secratary at the Lackawanna Heritage Valley,

Patrick Sine
Patrick is a cartographer, GIS analyst, web app developer, ski patroller, and cyclist. He is currently the Senior GIS Analyst for Luzerne County PA and brings a data driven perspective to ABC’s work.

Ted Zwiebel
Ted is a retired Professional Services Leader where he held leadership positions in several International companies throughout his career. Ted grew up in South Wilkes Barre, attended the former Bishop Hoban High school and graduated from Wilkes University. Ted currently lives with his wife Peggy in Scranton, PA., they have three adult children and one Granddaughter. Ted is an active in both road, gravel and mountain biking participating and coordinating group rides, and fundraising ride events.

Cris Forelli
Cris is a Park Ranger in the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, an ultra endurance athlete, and a major part in ABC’s expanding ride curriculum.
Mike Toye
Mike Toye was a founding member of ABC, and was instrumental in the development of local trails and bringing the Heritage Explorer Tour to life.
